Patrick Thurston
Patrick Thurston worked as a freelance photographer for over 30 years on assignments for the Telegraph Colour Magazine, National Geographic, Time-Life Books, English Tourist Board, Radio Times and numerous other publications. He travelled the world meeting and photographing many celebrities including the Aga Khan, Charlton Heston, Rudolph Nuryev and Margot Fontaine, Pierre Balmain, Rex Harrison, John Betjeman, Marcel Marceau and Henri Cartier-Bresson.

In 1965 he won the British Press Pictures Award of the Year for his unique panoramic photograph of Churchillís funeral procession for the Telegraph magazine, which was also used as a three page fold-out in National Geographic. In 1970 he walked the length and breadth of Britain for eighteen months to illustrate the pioneering Readers Digest Book of Walks.

Recently he has been focussing his attention more on his personal work which reflects his own artistic point of view and which is a natural progression from his earlier photography.
